Job Summary

As a Software Engineer-File Systems, in the Gluster Engineering team, you will work as part of a team responsible for developing the filesystem, and writing unit test cases for Gluster filesystem.

The ideal candidate should have astrong technical background, preferably in client/server architecture,algorithm development and will be creative, team-oriented, a quick learner withgood interpersonal skills and driven to produce results

Essential Functions
     
.        Design,develop and debug Gluster filesystem
·        Build and assemble prototypes as required with assistance from the senior engineers in the team
·        Deliver high quality products that are extensible and scalable within the specified timeline
·        Participate and contribute in code reviews
·        Identify product requirements and potential improvements
·        Participate in the complete software development life cycle from requirement gathering to deployment of the product
·        Conduct system analysis and development and review and repair legacy code
·        Provide assistance to testers and support personnel as needed to determine system problems
 ·       Debug and resolve any field issues
·        Document code consistently throughout the development process
·        Review,to the extent possible, changes in code and the environment that will affect system performance 

Required Experience

 ·        2+ years of experience in system software development in GNU/Linux and Unix
·        A minimum of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical degree withrelevant experience is preferred.
·        Must have extensive working knowledge of C, C++, Makefiles
·        Excellent data structures and algorithm skills
·        Operating systems and Unix internals skills
·        Knowledge of Free and open source software development concept and methodology
·        Ability to multi task while ensuring quality of work
·        Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to interact with customers if required
·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills
